Credits: Interior Design: Creg Oosterhart General Contractor:: Fastrack Construction Photography: Robert Ikeler Subsequent to the completion of the Showcase Unit displayed by Philadelphia Magazine’s Design Home Philadelphia, this residence is one of seven apartments to be designed by Kass & Associates and built to suit individual owners’ requirements. This residence was designed as a backdrop for the client’s 19th century Second Empire inspired French antiques and furnishings. The three bedroom unit is entered from a private elevator vestibule and proceeds through a gallery towards the living room. A domed rotunda with inlaid marble floor marks the juncture of the public and private portions of the residence. The dining and living room’s woodwork of columns, beams, and trim are inspired by the architectural work of Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer. The master bedroom suite is anchored by a large bedroom with a walnut, king-sized t bed highlighted with bronze fittings. Flanking the bedroom is a marble tiled bathroom on one side with twin vanities, tub, and shower, and a walnut paneled study on the other. |
